Question by Sean: Lithium-polymer batteries charging?
I am currently looking to buy an electric rc buggy, And the included battery is a Ni-mh. I want to get some Li-Po Batteries with it as well. I'm not new to RCing but I am new to electric Rc. I always messed around with nitro. I'm done with nitro, too much of a hassle lol. Is Li-po a better performing battery? Also I have a charger for a li-po battery, But its maximum output is 13.5 volts and 1.5 amps and it says 3 cells on the charger. The Car Li-Po batteries that I'm looking into are 2 cell, 7.4 volts and 4000 mAh. Would I be able to charge the Lipo batteries with that charger until I get the funds for a really rocking charger. I know you cannot charge li-po batteries with a Ni-mh charger so I'm not asking that. I want to know if I can charge a 7.4 volt 4000 mAh li-po battery with a li-po charger with a max output of 13.5 volts and 1.5 amps. Because If I'm not mistaking 4000 mAh is equivalent to 4 amps right? Thanks for your help and please excuse my ignorance lol.
