This was an experience I made with the few parts I had at home right after the 2nd Tomar LEGO(r) Fan Event... I used the new IR car base from the Turbo RC new sets. Unfortunatly, it didn't have power to move, 'cause the struture was too heavy, but it's nice even though, right? I enjoyed a lot to do build my first "big" car!

Because of the movie "The Fast and the Furious" many people today think that the word "nitro" means having something extra on your car that boosts its speed. Thus, many people who encounter the term "Nitro RC Car" think that it refers to an RC car that's been upgraded.

This thinking could also be due to the fact that many people think that gas powered RC cars actually run on gasoline. This is a very wrong assumption. The term "Nitro RC Car" is actually synonymous with "gas powered RC car" because of the fact that this type of RC car uses a specialized mixture of nitromethane and lubricant to run.

So what do you need to get started with Nitro RC cars?

1) Experience- Before you go ahead and get a Nitro RC car, you need to have sufficient experience with an electric RC car. I personally would reccomend TRAXXAS, Team Associated, or Team Caster Racing who is beginning to dominate the 1/8th scale electric scene.
Team Losi has lost some of it's racing potential since the owner left the company at bay. I would only get a Losi if your a professional racer willing to spend your whole week at the race track... that is... dialing your vehicle in so it's faster because Losi just is FAST... but Team Associated is more Reliable. Traxxas doesn't like competition or sponsoring people... so be cautious if your a racer!
If you want to have fun, get yourself a TRAXXAS. Team Losi is starting to follow TRAXXAS, but they don't have as many optional parts.

I am planing on getting a gas RC car but i dont know any good companies or anything like that. i was thinking about Nitro though. i want one that i can launch off jumps and nothing will happen to them. What should i get?

If you want something that you can launch off jumps and not break straight away you'll want to look at the off-road trucks and buggies as they are generally better suited to that kind of punishment.

Some manufacturers you might want to take a look at are Traxxas, HPI and CEN but there are many more companies that make them. Traxxas trucks and cars often appeal to nitro newcomers as most feature EZ Start which takes a lot of hassle out of the engine starting process if you're new to the hobby.

Gas RC cars are generally much bigger and much more expensive than nitro cars. 1/5th scale gas powered vehicles are common whilst nitro RC cars are usually either 1/8th or 1/10th scale so quite a bit smaller.

Nitro RC cars are much more common than gas ones so if you go for gas you don't get as many choices of manufacturer or car. If you do want gas rather than nitro then the HPI Baja 5B buggy and 5T truck would be worth a look.

RC Car are becoming more and more popular among all different ages groups. RC cars and the RC world in general, is a hobby that can totally consume your life... and your wallet. It doesn't have to though. When I first became interested in RC car racing, all I wanted was a fast rc car. Fast RC cars were in and everyone was getting them. Now, I'm not that old, but old enough to know that my definition of a fast rc car might different than a kid's is today.My first RC Car was a Turbo Hopper that my mother (Santa) picked up at JC Penny's. Though I thought it was the best thing in the world, not to mention the fastest Remote control in the world, it was far from. Fast RC cars were for the big dogs; people who has money to spend; gas rc cars were the thing to have. Actually, my gas powered rc car was quite slow. While operating RC Cars isn't exactly a physical activity in itself; chances are amateur RC enthusiasts will have a crash or two and they will have to retrieve the vehicle. There is competitive racing circuits, national championships and several types of classes in both the amateur and professional RC racing realm. This is the Kyosho World Cup 1997 finals won by Team Philippines. Here they do a lemans start where pitcrew run to the cars, pull start the engine then start racing. There is also a driver change during the 60 minute final, driver will run down from the driver stand to tag the co-driver in. These Kyosho cars are so realistic. There were popular bodies and models such as the Ford GT. And with such a big track racing was very realistic. Hope you like this nostalgic video. RC racing was really the best in the 90s!

This is something that a lot of people of all ages and walks of life enjoy. Many people think that remote controlled vehicles are just for kids, but it doesn't matter how old you get, they are still a lot of fun! If you have been looking for something to do in your free time this may be just what you were looking for.

You can buy remote controlled cars that are already built and ready to enjoy if you would like. Many people buy their first car completely built so they can immediately begin playing with it and enjoying the fun and relaxation that can come from simply playing with the car in their backyard or in an open field. If you want to get a bit more involved in the process you can begin to think about building your own remote controlled vehicle.

A lot of people get into the hobby buying their cars and then find that they would rather build their own gas RC car. This is something that will take a lot of time and patience, especially the first time, but it is also a lot of fun. I still remember the day when I broke my first RC car that was presented to me on my 5th birthday when the entire family was in vacation in Queensland! The same day, we went to a small local RC cars shop near by and as I entered I found myself surrounded with rc cars and rc trucks!! Soon, I set my eyes on a Tamiya Ford Ranger XLT. I bought that one and yes....i also laid my hands greedily on a rc truck!

Well, that was all around 25 years ago, but my passion is still as young.

Electric rc cars make use of a 7.2 volt battery and two electric motors. The rc car can speed up to 25 miles per hour and of course, this is the perfect start for the beginner. The best part of these electric rc cars is that you can redesign the cars to be more faster, attach ball bearings, boost the system with high power batteries and everything thing else you ever wanted to experiment with. With all these modifications, you can speed up your car to 40 miles per hour!

Similarly, the remote control car, which enables you to operate the car from a distance. It consists of a remote control unit, a battery, and a charger. Many remote control cars make use of a 540 size electric motors, powered by 4 or 7 cell batteries. Pan chassis with direct drive transmission are the norm for the remote control cars. Foam tires are used and lightweight Lexan bodies are used.

The Nitro RC cars are the second most popular cars. The word nitro refers to the nitrogen that is a major part of the fuel which is used to run the nitro rc cars. The energy that is given by the fuel combustion allows the nitro rc cars to catch up a speed of 80 miles per hour! These are special fuel made for nitro rc cars, regular gasoline will NOT work! Nitro rc cars are less in weight and have a better power to weight ratio. You can easily modify the engine with a Mabuchi motor to give a speed of 90 miles per hour!

These nitro or gas powered rc cars give that much needed reality into the machine and is spcailly designed for people who are in search of something different from electric cars. The most popular gas powered rc cars today are the cheap and fast gas rc car , nitro touring cars, the BIG monster nitro rc trucks!

These gas powered remote controlled cars and similar to electric touring cars, but with more power and 2-speed transmission. At 190mm, these cars are slightly narrower and smaller than the 200mm models. You can also search for hundreds of rc car from online rc hobby shops.
