RC helicopters have definitely taken off as this years rc toys - this is mostly because they are great fun but partly because they have starred in a number of action movies.Radio Control helicopters are basically in two classes - indoors and outdoor models.Indoor models are pretty safe and are unlikely to damage your room fittings or ornaments.Outdoor models are a bit on the chunky side and need quite a lot of room to fly and steer properly.I suggest you only use these above open ground as rc helicopters seem to develop a life of their own and get strangely attracted to electricity pylons,bushy trees and greenhouses.(NEVER try to retrieve an rc helicopter from an electricity pylon or you may get seriously injured.)Actually flying an rc helicopter is fairly easy but more refined models need even more space and practice.Space being the IMPORTANT word !While you are flying an rc helicopter never forget that you aer moving in 3 directions at the same time/Like all aircraft , helicopters need room to manouver and the more room you have to fly in , the less likely you are to hit an unexpected object - like you for instance !I suggest you begin with using an open field or playing ground making sure there are no children or pets in the area that could get hurt.
