My Beautiful RC L-39 EDF Jet was crashed twice due to CG that was still not set right. Finally I figured things out, and joined the 3 Pieces back lol. Now the jet is back in action and flies so sweet. I am gonna fix the retracts soon after buying the retract servos. Till then enjoy this video. The Awesome Hob of 1-5 Scale Petrol RC Cars

Article by Grant Delmege

The world of radio controlled cars is a very fun and intoxicating hobby. Firstly you can choose between electric, nitro or petrol RC cars, they are fully customisable and tunable, offer great speed and most of all a lot of fun! However, in this article I am going to look at an ever popular area of radio controlled cars 1/5 scale petrol RC cars!

These model cars are much bigger than normal RC cars and are powered with 23cc to 30cc 2 stroke petrol engines. These engines run on normal unleaded petrol and require 2 stroke engine oil to be mixed into the petrol before filling up the model to keep the engine fully lubricated.

You can buy these radio controlled cars in various guises from buggies, monster trucks to track cars. It really does depend what you are looking for in a model, whether you want to use it off-road, on a track or on both surfaces.

Due to improving engineering and technology, these awesome RC cars have good top end speeds, lots of power and are very tough and durable. They are much more durable than their smaller nitro RC car cousins because the engines are not so stressed and they run on unleaded petrol as opposed to nitro fuel.

You have a wide choice of makes of petrol rc cars out there from HPI's Baja buggy to XRC's XRC1 reack car to ShengQi's awesome hummer monster truck! Prices can also vary wildly with the top branded HPI baja buggy selling for almost £1,000 but XRC's XRC1 track car only costing around £300.

Petrol RC cars really does offer the enthusiast, great realism, lots of speed and thrills but most of all lots of fun! So if you are looking for a new hobby today, maybe you should consider entering the awesome world of 1/5 scale radio controlled cars!
